Prof. Kim's major research interests are in Planetary Atmospheres, Visible, Infrared and Radio Spectroscopy, Infrared Auroral Activities, Cometary Sciences, and Artificial Satellite Tracking Technology. Over the past ~30 years he has been involved in observations of planetary objects and data analyses of spacecraft data particularly from Voyager, Galileo, and recently Cassini; and published more than 100 scientific papers in major journals. In 1997, Dr. Kim started working on the construction of artificial satellite tracking system at Kyung Hee University.
